List of active Indian Navy ships

This is a list of active Indian Navy ships currently in service. For ships no longer in service see List of ships of the Indian Navy.

According to the International Institute for Strategic Studies the Indian Navy operates 107 vessels.[1] 20 of the commissioned vessels are major surface combatants (8 guided-missile destroyers and 12 guided-missile frigates) and 14 are diesel-electric attack submarines. In addition the Navy possesses an aircraft carrier and 1 amphibious transport dock and 1 nuclear attack submarine. The INS Chakra was handed over to India on the 30th December 2011.
